Parking lights and dash lights not working

Hey everyone. I just got a 97 gt about 2 weeks ago. Since I got it the dash lights have not worked. I checked the fuse and saw that is was blown so I replaced it. The dash lights then worked until I started the car and hit the gas then the fuse blew again. After replacing the fuse multiple times I then realized my parking lights and tailights stopped working (they were working before). I replaced the headlight switch and it did not fix it. I removed a section of the dash and behind my radio (it is an aftermarket head unit) I found a light blue with a red tracer not attached to anything with wire exposed. I believe the wire is for the dimmer but I am not positive. Any help is appreciated thanks

See I u can come across a wiring diagram somewhere to track down and relays or circuits that could be causing the fuses to blow. Hell it may be a loose or disconnected ground somewhere when the aftermarket CD player went in. I had a 98 but never that issue and if I can find a diagram I will send it your way.

You've got a short somewhere. I had almost the same problem. I messed with my aftermarket head unit. Next thing I know the dash lights don't work. After replacing the fuse and it blowing multiple times. I pulled the head unit all the way out and saw some wires back there that had been cut and were just sitting there. Taped them off individually and made sure no bare wires were touching. Been good ever since. Still not sure what those wires were for? Everything works fine tho lol
