Car idles at 3k after hard throttle

So I recently did the idle relearn on my car to and afterwards whenever I get on the throttle pretty hard it sits at 3,000 rpms for a while. If I coast in gear for a couple seconds it will return to it's normal idle. I was planning on checking my tps voltage next to see if that's in the correct range. Does anybody have any suggestions as to eat else I should check?

Idle air control valve?
Don't think it applies to your situation but last week when I replaced my intake manifold, I reconnected some of the PCV and EGR tubes incorrectly and was idling at 2500-3000 rpm, but that was all the time.

I was thinking there was a possibility of it being the IAC, I haven't done the gasket mod yet so maybe I'll add that to the list

I don't know who you are Mile high but there's already someone on here with the handle JDF...

How old is your IAC?
From the symptoms, I'd be willing to bet that is the culprit.

Haha I'm his evil twin.

I've never replaced the IAC, I would assume it's the original part, I've had the car since 50k and it's at 89k now.
