The spectre will not making it breathe better, it will suck a lot more hot air in

If you want better airflow you need to buy a TB and plenum for starts

Easy way to check is take your car to auto parts store so they can test your battery and alt for free

Stock is always best, spectre is cheapy metal and it will absorb more heat in engine bay, you'll probably lose hp as well,

I'd recommend the JLT next gen cold air intake, because it's not made of any metals , it's like plastic

I have the spectre cai, and I could tell a better difference than stock with a lil more power and better throttle response so please tell me how you know that it makes you lose hp.?

Need engine help

He's not saying you WILL lose hp but the potential for heat soak over a period of time can heat the incoming air up to have a Potential for horsepower loss. It's like having an all metal intake manifold, while making a couple passes down the track will net some gains, having it on a daily driver or street car will cause heat soak causing a horsepower loss

Ok but mine is made out of aluminum and I didn't think that it trapped heat like a metal one would

The S197s will actually benefit from a CAI unlike the SN95s

Only major gains from cold air intakes are the new 5.0
