Yes built in 2000 and imported to australia by ford australia and changed to right hand drive by tickford australia and sold here 2001so that would make it 2001 model in australia and 2000 model in usa so now thinking about it not sure what to call it.

I'm almost almost positive that the only Cobra that was imported to Australia but not available in the US was the 2002 Cobra. The only Cobra made in 2000 was the Cobra R.

There are a ton of cars produced a year before they are released and considered the next year model.

Example : Build date 07/10 , but they will sell it as a 2011 model

---------- Post added at 09:41 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:40 AM ----------

Maybe the body shop accidentally unplugged your impact sensors , or pinched a wire.
Take it back and tell them

This seems to be the most plausible explanation.

We'd all love to see some photos of your Cobra!

If you have a legit ausi cobra, then you should be super careful with it! That is a HUGELY rare car. 1 of 100. They were all 2002 model year cars though identifying them has been an issue. It was my understanding that fomoco modified them for rhd. Hmmmmmmm.... There are obvious visual cues that would identify your car. Make sure to take a couple shots of the front end and one of the side.

There are two sensors on the front of the car behind the grill. They are the two "boxes" located on both sides of the Pony.
