Wall going into 3rd gear

Ok so for anyone who doesn't know I have a 2001 Bullitt with the TR3650 transmission (5 speed).

When I am really on the gas going to redline and i'm going to shift from 2nd to 3rd a lot of the time it will literally feel like there is a wall there and i will have to wait a second or 2 before it will finally let me go into 3rd. It only happens when i am going hard from 2nd to 3rd.

I have an MGW shifter also.

Does anyone know what the issue might be, and how I can fix this?

Try draining the transmission and refilling it with 3.25 quarts of Mobil 1. (Cliffy's fav!)
There might be some windage going on from too much trans fluid.

Another reminder that I, also, need to do mine...

Ok I've been wanting to change the fluid. I've never changed tranny fluid, how would I go about emptying it? I know how to fill it.

There's a drain plug on the bottom of the transmission.

Yeah I would deff change tranny fluid with Mobil 1 or royal purple and check the bolt on the back of your shifter and make sure it's adjusted right had mine push to far forwarded and it did the same thing to me but was 5th gear

Ok I'll see when I get a chance. It's hard to do work on the car when I live on campus with only a small tool kit.
