02 gt rear deff

hi
im thinking about changing rear deff on my 2002 mustang gt to Ford Racing T-2 Torsen Differential - 31 Spline 8.8in (86-14 V8; 11-14 V6) with new axles. If that is wort the money and effort, or just stay with the old one. keep it mind that i have to change one axle because i broke one.

That will be a nice upgrade if you have the funds. It sounds like your rear end has taken a good beating and probably needs to be freshened up anyway.

Have you done a set of gears before? I would definitely upgrade to a 31 spline for drifting.

You don't necessarily need to replace the gears, but you're gonna need to set up your back lash and stuff like that with the new diff.

You will need a dial indicator to measure the backlash. Do you know if the new carrier comes with new bearings pre-installed

No offense but that needs to go to a shop, unless your a professional. And have done tons of gear swaps , rear end work.
It NEEDS to be perfect , one **** up and it's over
