I know. Use your judgement. Try it. It works for me. I can tell the difference between 5 or 6 quarts just by listening to it. My brother (a certified mechanic) did my last oil change. When I picked up the car I said "you only put 5 in". He said "isnt that how much it takes?". Lol.. True story...

I'm not sure what dipstick that your car has, a 5 or 6 qt.
The way to do this correctly is to change the oil and then refill with 6 qts and see where it registers on your dipstick.

That'd be cool if it made some difference. If your car runs fine than dont worry about it. Unless it affects the performance or you can REALLY tell somethings broken. Good luck.
