Need help adding Transmission fluid.

I have a 03 manual. I have been all over the internet trying to find the best solution to figure out how best to change the transmission fluid. Does anyone have a GOOD solution to do this or have any experience with this. Help me please!!

There is a bolt on the bottom side of your tranny that you'll have to take out to drain the oil. The way I've done it is by taking apart the shifter from inside the car and pouring it in through there. Easier than pumping the oil IMO.

Did you just run a hose down to the fill hole or did you use a funnel?

Just used a funnel but make sure it is absolutely clean and be careful if with the shifter gasket, make sure nothing falls down in the tranny and you'll be fine

1. Jack car up
2. Get a 3/8 Rachet
3. Undo the drain bolt located under the transmission
4. Drain the fluid into a measure bucket to measure how much came out
5. Plug the drain back up
6. Remove shifter
7. Pour whatever came out, the amount
Into the transmission
8. Re install shifter with new silicone
9. Test drive

Royal purple is what I used. Expensive as hell but it shifts so much smoother

Put in only 3.25 quarts to avoid any windage problems.

Use Dex III fluid, helps cold shifting.

The way I've done it forever and never had a problem:

-Pull drain plug AND fill plug

-Let it all drain out completely (duh)

-Put the drain plug and ONLY the drain plug back in. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN, I have seen cracked cases because some gorilla went nuts on it.

-Pop the shifter and pour fluid in through there, I don't use anything but good aim and a rag, you might want to use a funnel, however works best for you.

-Fill till fluid starts to spill out of the fill plug.

-Wipe up excess fluid, re-install fill plug/shifter, drive.

Haha.

-Don't pour beer into transmission. Also do not go for test drive after multiple beers. Also if you consider Bud/Miller/Coors/Keystone/Bush/Natty or any of the other macro pee "beers" as an actual beer please see me after class to turn in your man card.
