How many gallons do you consider a "tank" to be?

Manual or auto? Probably just going to come down to your driving style. If i beat on mine, it easily can see 12-13 mpg average. If it's manual, shift at lower rpms, and keep your foot off it.

That IS bad!
From the look of your avatar, it seems like it's running pretty good... Is that how you're driving it all of the time? That might have something to do with it.

Check all of the tune-up stuff, filters, plugs, clean the throttle body and the MAF.
Most importantly, ease up on the right foot there Hotrod...

i used to get 160mi on a full tank on my old 01 gt auto. running rough, no mods other than catback and intake. filled up every tuesday and thursday roughly $30ish at the pump. Now on my 04 gt 5 speed when i lay off the pedal have seen up to 320mi after some mods and now unable to resist hard acceleration i still avg about 260 mi.

You have a 15.7 gallon tank. You aren't "empty"

Low mpg

My 01 Bullitt around 80mph will pull 19mpg, but that's with fairly aggressive freeway driving.
Cruising 65-70 it's about 23mpg. That's giving me between 260-300 miles per tank. Now in the city, that's a different story. 13mpg is average in city driving.

This is also stock 3.27 gearing

If you too off your car and the gauge only goes to 3/4 it's time for you to get a new fuel pump, the sending unit is going bad and our pumps have it integrated into the pump so you have to buy the whole unit

Dude, I had this problem... I'd be willing to bet you are getting better, but you sending unit in the tank is jacked.

Mine did the exact same thing, I'm running a Supercharged 01 Roush and I get ~300 highway per tank after I replaced the sending unit. The gauge is just reading wrong.

Do a test. Fill up til it clicks full, no extra. Drive 30 miles (15 out, 15 back to the gas station) full up again to the click (full)

30 (miles) divided by how many gallons you put in after that test (should be between 1.5 and 2 gallons) which is over 15mpg.

Now I see someone beat me to this advice
