2001 gt

I am about to buy a cam for my 2001 gt. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good cam that will give me peak performance? Pretty much stock engine except for a Bbk cold air and Bbk pulleys and performance ignition and a tune and Flowmasters.

Ok I'll get gears too! 3.73 or 4.10? Still gonna get a cam.

I would research cams more before settling on them as your next upgrade. You will benefit most with cams on a N/A motor by making sure you've got enough air coming in and moving out at a good rate. Most cams have gear recommendations that go with them as well. I would recommend at least upgrading your intake plenum and throttle body. Cams aren't cheap to install either

You have 2 cams, not 1. New ones are $600 plus $150 for the degree service and you will REQUIRE a tune afterwards so add another $400-$600. For that sort of money there are a LOT of other bolt ons you can do to improve performance.

Swapping cams isn't like the old ford

GTs have over head camshafts which require you to mess with the timing chains.

Just a heads up
For a NA setup with really no bolt ons you'll probably get like 5-15hp tops

Now if you had full bolt ons, and what not you'll see a lot better gains

There's a huge sticky about bolt ons at the top of the forum.
