Powersteering help!

I got in my car this afternoon and noticed when my car idles it doesn't have powersteering but when I rev it up a slight bit it'll work fine until I let it idle again, also while trying to turn it while sitting still it starts to make grinding noises and such.

Check your fluid level. Sounds like its really low, which could mean a leak, or a faulty pump

Fluid level was low so there probably is a leak somewhere

Check the hoses leading into the steering rack and into the pump. If its ever been taken off before, chances are someone over cranked the bolts and its not tight

Probably high pressure hose leaking or rack and pinion.. Most common

Better NOT run with low or empty power steering fluid, if you keep being lazy you will end up buying a powersteering pump, rack and pinion, and alignment like my idiot self

Just came across this thread again, hoses weren't leaking and I narrowed it down to the power steering pump going bad
