Vortech v1

I bought a vortech v1 for $800 but the guy told me that it has a bad seal and said it was leaking oil so I'm going to send it in to vortech to get re built how much do you guys think this will cost?

It just baffles me how much these things are nowadays. Ever since superchargersonline started selling the pieces to the kits they've like doubled or tripled in price. You used to be able to buy good ones needing no rebuild for $600...

Yep, the the whole "build a vortech kit for $1500" threads started when superchargersonline started selling all the kit pieces individually. Demand for the headunits went up and so did the prices. You used to legit be able to do a full Vortech kit with a good used blower for $1500. Nowadays a good used T-trim costs $1500...

Wtf? What are they rebuilding it with platinum? There are people who rebuild these for way less than that, I'd start googling or looking around the bigger forums. Or look up how to rebuild them yourself, there are kits to do it.

The first part of that email is what they charge for a rebuild. The other part is bull**** and you should start looking around for other rebuilder places or just look up how to DIY.

Give these guys a call/email.

Supercharger Rebuilds

Also, the google, she knows... I must have found a good half dozen rebuild kits and shops with a single search.
