99 cobra differential t

Hey guys been gone for a while but I'm back now. Since I've been gone I've done q few things to the car including a full burnt orange car wrap from 3m installed a 100 shot of nos and 4.10's. I've tooken it a few times to the strip and my carrier limited slip diff blew up. Literally like blew up, luckily my housing and gears are fine thank god lol. But anyways I need a new limited slip for my 99 cobra which is 8.8 and 28 spline. Any recommendations on some? Thanks[ATTACH]147523[/ATTACHClick image for larger version

I believe my car has an Auburn. I've had one in a truck as well.
The one in my car works good in a straight line but while autocrossing, I've noticed that it doesn't hook up very good ever since I went to stickier tires, strangely. Just around corners though.
If I had to do it all over again, I'd go with the Ford racing T2 Torsen differential.

Haha.
Your car must be hooking up pretty good to do that damage.
The axle shafts will be next...

Moddin' aint easy.

Thanks for the input! I don't want a heavy duty one just one that will be better than oem. Yea it hooks well plus with the nos I installed it feels like a whole diff car. Yea that's true modding ain't easy

Cliffy recently posted some info about the difference between 28 and 31 spline axles... pretty minimal.
The only reason that I went to 31 spline is that one of my axles was bad and the shop that was doing the work had all of the parts to upgrade to 31 spline, they would have had to order the 28 spline axle.
As usual, I was in a hurry and wanted my car back immediately.

I think that upgrading the bushings in your IRS will help with wheel hop and, thus, improve axle life.

Hmm I'll check out his post. Oh ok I see. I did upgrade my bushings but towards the end of the destruction lol. I'll have to do some more research on a carrier though that won't break that bank

Yeah bushings would probably be better in this case than going 31 spline. I forgot it was an irs. Most guys are gonna run a spool and an SRA for big HP anyways. To answer your original question, I haven't personally used it, but I hear good things about the Ford Racing T2.
