Is it worth it

Recently discovered I'm having some head gasket issues, I have 143,xxx on the motor what I'm wondering is if I'm gonna take the heads off, etc. to replace gasket should I just upgrade heads/cams while I'm there (mhs stage 2 package) will this be worth it with that many miles?

I would say yes, if that's the route that you want to go and you can afford it.
Those miles aren't too bad as long as it has been maintained reasonably well.

If you are going to have the heads off and can afford other stuff I would get cams and port the heads while they are off

I would think if you have to pull the heads then you might look into a rebuild of the bottom end as well. I would hate to malt the top end brand new and the bottom let go shortly after. At least get it looked at and see what condition the bottom end is in. Best of luck.

Good advice^ might as well tear it down and build it. Unless money is an issue which is why I'd just cam it and new gasket. But that still is gonna run over 2k probably if you get new springs retainers and what not and to install/degree.
