Check the flanges that connect the muffler to x pipe or h pipe. Mine had a rattle ended up being the flanges shook the bolts loose. Tightened them up all good. If you scrape the exhaust that also will cause them to loosen.....personal experience there lll

Check your hangers where the exhaust is hung from the car, the bushings can wear out over time, hope ya find what the rattle is!

If you didn't put the exhaust on yourself...my brother found a bolt INSIDE of the muffler, how someone does that I don't know, but it can happen.
Either way, I would start by knocking on the mufflers, and try to follow the sound and notice if it only rattles when you push up (that could be a loose bolt).

If those are flowmasters (look like it) the baffling inside the muffler can sometimes break loose and it will make the exact sound you are describing. Only fix is to replace the muffler. Luckily, dronemasters are not expensive.

Yes does are flowmasters.ive looked them up and they have the same ones at advanced auto parts for about 80
Why are they called dronemaster?

Look on summit and jegs before you look at advanced, might be cheaper. They're called dronemasters because at 2200 rpm on the highway you want to kill yourself because of the noise in the cabin.

Honestly the Summit mufflers get good results and are like $20/muffler. If you want a stainless straight through muffler its $100+ per muffler minimum.

I had a moment where the light bulb clicked on when I owned my 91GT. It was after a 2 hour drive home to my parents house when I had just joined the military and wound up stationed one state over. Anyway I get out of the car and my Dad comes up and starts talking to me and I have a hard time hearing him for a few minutes. Not making this up and I worked/still work around operating jet engines for a living so I'm not some office weiner who can't stand loud noises.

Should be universal but double check, I can't remember 100% off the top of my head. Youtube has videos of how they sound on modulars too. Chambered is like a flowmaster, "turbo" is a straight through like a Magnaflow.

Refer back to post #5 that I made where I diagnosed your exact problem for free over the interwebs. You have 2 cats missing because all aftermarket catted pipes only have 2 cats. You don't need 4 that come on the 5.0s or 6 on the Modulars.

As long as you have cats on there you are good. If not, some shops will not work on the car or even worse, not let the car leave the shop with an offorad pipe on there. Legally they actually are not supossed to allow a car with an offroad pipe go.
