How to get more power out of my 2000 GT

Hey everybody,
I just bought my first mustang
It has a 75mm throttle body, Cold Air Intake, SCT 93 tune, Bassani o/r x pipe, flowmaster super 40's, and 4:10 gears. Im 17 and just want to gain more hp, i know the upgrades are going to start to get more expensive from here but would like to know where to start. My next upgrade planned is mac lt headers with a o/r x pipe. Im new to the mustangs, i came from wranglers so im kinda at a loss.
Thanks

The long tubes would be the next thing i would do. Decent HP gain, and incredible sound. Some people also throw on a set of underdrive pullies. Sadly, you may be able to hit the 300 whp mark with basic bolt ons. But not really much after that. These cars love boost.

UD Pulleys and a Short Throw Shifter!.. The shifter won't add HP, but bit will help you get through your gears quicker!.. UD Pulleys don't add much power, what they really do is free up some HP, and help your car rev up quicker!..

I did Mac long tubes to a catted h pipe on my car. The long tubes made it pull so much harder on the top end and the sound is absolutely incredible! I'd do a catted h if I were you. Gets rid of off-road rasp.

Or cheaper yet, get rid of the Flows!.. And get a flow through design muffler, something without baffles!..

No Cats will free up some horsepower. Not much, but some. Without the cats you can be assured it'll be raspy and loud.

Hi-Po Cats are not much different than a straight pipe!.. But will cost a bit more than a O/R Mid pipe!..

Yes heads cams will get you to 300. All honesty its not worth the money. Just go boots or nitrous on a 2v

Performance wise the X-pipe is better performing, by only about 1-3 hp!.. Depending on you other mods!.. Sound wise the H-pipe will give you a slightly deeper tone than the X!..

Word to the wise, i hope you're on good terms with your neighbors. Because longtubes/slp loudmouths is one hell of a loud combo. I heard them just as a catback no longtubes and they will still wake the dead. They sound good though.

Just be careful for emissions and cops. You probably won't stay in ur one town the rest of your life. I am refraining from a h pipe due to the environmental nazis and the cops.. I do want something really loud tho only got flowmasters welded in.

Go find some pistons out of a NPI engine. Those have a shallower dish, which means higher compression. Which means more power.

He'd be better off finding a NPI short block. Swapping pistons isn't the easiest thing in the world depending on the wrist pins that were used from the factory

Its something to do if he was gonna do stuff like heads and cams. Yea the pistons alone probably aren't worth it... But if you have plans to tear into the motor for something might as well do that also.
