Help on pedal install

Hey guys, i worked on installing my bullitt pedals today. I finished the dead pedal and clutch/brake pedals but for the gas pedal i realized i have to take the entire lever off to install it. My question is how do you take the washer off of the throttle cable so i can unhook the lever from the cable? Any insight would be appreciated, thanks!
Pics are below, its the gold washer in the middle of the picClick image for larger version

Well that's quite the blurry picture. Looks like you need to slide that plastic piece up and out of the groove and the cable should slide through the notch

The plastic piece at the base of the cable. The washer shouldn't come off. You see how there's that notch in the top of the pedal arm? The plastic piece slides into there and locks into place I believe
