01 cobra transmission

I just picked up an 01 cobra convertible last night and the only bad part is the clutch chatters. I have a brand new ford racing clutch for my 02 gt just sitting here. Is the 01 cobra transmission the same as the 02 gt?

Im pretty sure that they both use the same clutch since they are both 11 inch.
Someone will chime in who knows for sure though...

01 was a transition year. Very early run models got the t45. With that said they are both directly interchangeable.

As long as you have an 11" flywheel. If the car has a 3650 now it will be 11", if not its a 10.5" and an 11" clutch won't work with that. Just figure out what trans you have, look up the codes for your door tag, the trans code will be on it. If its a later run 01 you 99.9999999% have a 3650.

Or just yank the shifter and look under it. If there is a black shifter cup attached to the shifter you have a 3650, if not you have a T-45.

It looks like all of the 01 Cobras came with 3650's, like all of the Bullitts, no matter when they were made in 2001.
They apparently got rid of the old stock of T45's on the GT's...

Then he's good but I would still check. You never know. There are a few 01 cobras with teksids still.
