Pining/ knocking

I just installed supercharge on my car couple days ago and Monday was first day to driving it. It was working normally. Today I stepped on the gas not all the way but half way I heard knocking sound from the front and I slow down and pulled up to the side but everything was normal so it only makes knocking sound when I step on the gas half way. Any idea what is causing the noise? Even my oil is at the correct level. Everything seems to be fine. I'm not sure what's wrong.

Oh yeah. I forgot you are also running the canned tune. I hate to say told you so... But you should have listened to the wise advice some of the more knowledgeable people on this form gave you...GET A DYNO TUNE.

The dyno will show exactly what your car is doing while the gas is being applied. A/f mix spark all the goodies. And they will tune it precisely and safely. A supercharger tune isn't like a bama tune. You can't really blow your engine up with bolt ons (unless you red line it always of course), but you can easily with a supercharger.

You should try and take it easy in the meantime

Stop driving it until you get a tune. Period.

You're getting detonation. Don't drive it until you get it dynoed tune. That canned tune from Kenne Bell is just so it'll run while you take it to get dynoed. And yes invest in a WIDEBAND A/F, and boost gauge if you don't already have one.

As for the tuner, you should research them and see if they have a good reputation. $800 seems a little high, but not unrealistic. But of course I can only compare it to what places in my area would charge....

If the OP does not have a wideband already and is running around trying to go even half throttle on the canned tune...

Its a LITTLE high but not outrageous. I dunno this purchase/install is turning out sort of exactly like how I predicted and I sincerely hoped I would be wrong and still hope it all turns out great. But when you just buy a Mustang and then directly throw a supercharger at it with no other upgrades or supporting mods the odds of it turning out well are not exactly great. However, I have seen some supercharger only cars running around even with the stock exhaust so take that for what its worth. At any rate with no suspension upgrades the car will only be good for highway pulls until that is fixed.

The price for the dyno isn't as important as the person who is tuning your ca r

Which is why I call around but some people only have 1 shop local to them or even none. Lots of cars out there running email tunes but you can get those pretty close IF you datalog and send back to the tuner until you are good. This is tuning remotely more than just a "canned tune".

Today I called another shop near by and they want $1900 and I have to leave my car for three days which is too prices for me. Be4 I installed supercharged I had bbk off road pipe, steeda pulleys, bbk 78tb, Airrid intake, BAMA tuner sr Intake spacer, after all that i installed bbk lowering springs and steeda lower control arm, and next week m going with 275/45/17 nt555, but I did take all of my aftermarket parts off be4 installed supercharger. I haven't drove my car yesterday at all today m going to drive only to drop off at the dyno tune shop.

I found dyno shop called rpm center shop that's the only shop wants $800 other are two expensive. It's about 50 miles from where I live at. I have to drive my car to drop off today so it could cool down for tomorrow. Hopefully I make safe without breaking anything I won't mash on the gas but hopefully by driving normal it makes there and they could figure out what's wrong with it? Because when I stepped on the gas couple days ago it sound like it's about blow up after that I haven't drove or step on but still scared

How do they burn a computer? They might have even damaged the engine too. Make them pay for anything and everything

Do you have any pics of it? Is it the chip that you install in that box under the passenger side glove box?

They are full of ****. If they won't pay for it get a lawyer.

But something else is going on here, you don't just "burn up" a computer and a chip. What actually happened?

Document everything, contact the BBB. And hire a lawyer that doesn't charge you (unless you win... And then it is really out if the settlement).

Keep track of all costs (rental cars, separate repair fees by a reputable ship, time).
