Like from the headers all the way to the tips? I highly doubt the manifolds will work, the midpipe might fit with enough modification and I'm sure the same goes for the catback

What car is it going into? You can make anything fit with enough money and desire.

Wouldn't plain old gt exhaust be a little restrictive for a big motor likev that? One of the first mods guys do is lose the exhaust? Sounds like a fun project.

There is a slight difference between the two exhaust systems. I believe the new edge exhaust comes out towards the outside of the car a bit more if I remember right

+100 why the hell would she want to put a stock exhaust on the motor?? She is robbing the motor of power if she does. Tell her to save her money and buy and aftermarket exhaust...

I'm confused. This 98 GT has a 428 Cobra jet engine in it?
First of all, I'm jealous... my car has a tiny little sewing machine engine in it.
If that is the case, I'm sure that l am not the only one who would like to see some pictures of this engine swap.
EVERYTHING will have to be custom made for the exhaust system...

so my brother ended up buying the car off of her, and so we looked at the engine... and sorry to disappoint, but shes a big fat liar > its a modded 4.6 V8 engine from the regular GTs and she just put a cobra jet hood on it and called it good -_- but the exhaust on it right now is absolutely ridiculous. the car started as a V6 and they did the V8 engine swap on it and LEFT THE STOCK V6 EXHAUST ON IT. i imagine they had to have at least replaced the headers though right??

but anyway, im forcing my brother to replace the exhaust with a sweet after market exhaust set.

I think your brother just paid a large idiot tax unless you got it for book value for a V6.

Something seems fishy here. You could easily tell the difference between a 426 and a modular 4.6..... How could they keep the stock v6 exhaust on the v8. It would need different headers, and the stock v6 is a single exhaust port that mates to a y pipe...... either you don't have all the info, or someone is pulling someone's leg here

we never had a chance to look at the engine till we bought it (spent $1000 on it so no i didnt pay an idiot tax haha) but im pretty sure they swapped the headers on it cause the end piece of the exhaust is still the v6 (almost like a grand am exhaust [double head tip])

Does it have dual exhaust? You really think you were going to buy a car with a running 426 for 1000 bucks????

we were pretty positive it wasnt a cobra engine haha and no its the single exhaust, thats why its killing me haha the engine has the potential to put down 300 at the wheel, but the exhaust on it wont allow that to happen

^^+1 I would go through that car with a fine tooth comb. I'm assuming there are going to be a few things about that car that you don't know about.

Never heard of a 426 Cobra Jet.. It would have to be a 428 CJ. Ford makes 428, dodge makes 426 hemi.

Yes, Ford made a 427, 428, and 429... which is one of the reasons for it being fishy.
