When I run my gt kenne bell 2.1 supercharged and the car temperature gets to normal level. The supercharger gets really hot, I mean really hot and u can just feel the temperature of the heat around the car. The engine temperature is normal. Thats normal for twin screw superchargers.... Thats why they are becoming out-dated. When the thing that is forcing air into your engine is hot like that you will make much less power than it would if it were cool.

Welcome to the world of superchargers.

Compressing air creates heat. Controlling that heat is the real secret to making power.

Are you still driving this car with the same tune that KB gave to you so that you can drive the car down to get it dyno tuned rather than towing it to the tuners shop?

Supercharger hot!!

Did you install any type of intercooler?

Do you have a vented hood?

Intercooler, methanol injection, or nitrous.... All will lower your intake temps a bit. And like mentioned above my post, a vented hood will help a lot.

Its part of a blower. U can reduce it by methanol or a small shot of nitrous. But its part of it. You will get slower each run.

Meth or nitrous is going to get expensive on a daily driver!

Get that car tuned right and it will help a lot, Saleen...

He was wondering why the supercharger seemed to be adding heat to the engine bay when the car is just sitting there idling, not, "why does my car seem to be getting slower after doing consecutive passes".

I'm always up for being educated, can you please explain how a shot of nitrous or using meth injection would be an economical way to cool down a supercharger, while the engine is idling, or, even driving in city traffic, a supercharger that is already, in all probability, running at a normal operating temperature?

Thats just part of a twin screw/ roots blower. Methanol will help alot and is not expensive for a daily like was said above.

Awesome!
They just get hot. You've put something on top of your engine that creates heat.
It's not scorching the paint on the hood or anything is it?

That's what they're talking about. You would need the whole injection kit though.
That's for running high boost though...

Nitrous and methanol injection both help to cool the air charge AFTER it leaves the supercharger.
The best advice for cooling the underhood temperature is to have louvers punched in your hood.

How do you think that your possibly helping here Rapinator?

This is the second time that you've misunderstood the question and then followed up by making an *** of yourself.
I never claimed to be an expert but since you are why don't you just go ahead and answer the question that I asked you in the post above?

Methanol and nitrous both cool down the blower. Just like packing ice in the intercooler. Just cruising its not going to get that hot. Onlybtime its going to get as hot as he is saying is under boost. So a small shot or methanol will cause the blower to cool down. Just like spraying nitrous directly onto the intercooler itself.

Nope.
My car is almost completely stock.
Yes!!!
I had a turbo car before they were "mainstream popular" and I've been tinkering with hot rod boats, and my true passion, piston powered airplanes for (Good God!) 35+ years now.

This isn't a pissing contest on here Rapinator. We're here to share our knowledge and to learn as well.
