2004 mustang gt trade for 1999 cobra

Straight up trade? If so, i would.

Edit: then again, upon thinking about it. It makes me suspicious if it would be an even trade. Ask him whats wrong with it. There has to be something. Nobody usually wants to go from a 4v to a 2v with around the same mileage.

I'd rather have the 04 then the 99 Cobra.

Got pics of both cars? If the GT is clean then I'd keep it. It just seems fishy someone wants to straight up trade their 4v for a 2v. I'm interested in seeing the cobra, though.

Don't do it. You trade and his cobra blows up or tranny goes out.. Goodbye friendship. More than likely, nothing good will come out of it. You know how yours has been treated but you don't know about his.

If you have an issue inspecting it yourself then take it to a mechanic and suggest he do the same with your car. Remember the 99 Cobra had a major recall. Take the Cobras VIN to a Ford dealer and have them run it. It will tell you everything that's been done to the car at a Ford dealer. It will even show the recall if it has been done. I did this when I bought my Cobra.

why are you guys saying not to do it...
If I was looking to buy a car and found a
2004 gt and a 99 cobra both in great shape
and for the same price. I would instantly buy the cobra!.
That being said.. Maybe the cobra has some issues...
is spending some money on the cobra in mods worth it...
I would say yes!... Find out what you can about the cobra
if it seems to be in fairy good shape.. swap out... going from
a 2v gt to a 4v cobra is the best performance upgrade you will
ever do with your mustang..

I'm saying don't do it because for a straight up trade with only about 4,000 miles difference?!?... Sounds like there are some issues!..

+1.... And when OP finds them out then feelings get hurt and friendship is dead.

there's only so much that could be a big issue .. I am sure the OP is smart enough to do a decent inspection of it before trade.
