Custom intake

My brother just got his welding certification/degree.

What should I do to go about designing a custom intake manifold? (2v)

Any designs I should copy?

He's damn good and measuring, prepping, and proper welds will be used to ensure proper fitment

I wouldn't get involved in any legal issues. These manifolds aren't gonna be used by many unless you make a really cost efficient one. The PI intakes are good for lots or power. Metal ones are used more for high horsepower motors. Like I said you won't be able to just "copy" others stuff. There will be legal problems.

A lot goes in to designing an intake manifold so keep that in mind when you're thinking about it.

It's hard to find a GOOD custom made intake for less than a few thousand dollars. I remember a guy that made intakes for high hp drag applications that could have been in an art gallery. I think they started around $10k. I'm sure most of that is to cover R&D with maybe 1/4 of it being labor and materials.
