Confused

I'm getting my maximum motorsports camber plates on my car to get my tires aligned. And the mechanic said this and that about my strut...and that it was going to make my car sit higher....wtf. Why would camber plates make my car sit higher!? And he also said that the plates couldn't align it all the way?? I was under the impression MM was the best you could get

Um how would mounting something on top of your strut make it sit higher? That doesn't make sense at all. I could possibly see them not getting the car into alignment but it'll be pretty damn close

Have a little faith. Techs don't know everything about anything, especially aftermarket upgrades. I would see what he can do with them and then if you don't like it take it somewhere else.

Yeah get that figured out. It's not tough to install CC plates and alignments are pretty simple as well so I doubt he'll mess anything up.

He said " I have it pulled all the way to the right but it still won't align it good" . Referring to the plate.I feel like theres more to aligning than just that

There's two ways to install Maximum Motorsports CC plates. He probably installed http://www.maximummotorsports.com/faq_ccplates.aspx#22 them in the "negative" position.

Some mechanics are just part changers. They replace the factory parts with aftermarket parts. Any thing else is beyond there level of education. I rarely have to send my car to shops. But I drove buy and searched for shops that regularly had Mustangs in the front. More than likely mechanics will own them and have more experience with the car. It does not always work, but has a higher success rate. Some people just have a lower level of intelligence. At least one mechanic with 10+ years of experience will be at a successful shop.

I recommend finding another shop.

I didn't read that link, but if it shows how to install them correctly, let the guy look at it so he can get them right without you having to take it back, or worse, pay someone else to do it correctly...

lol so looks like you found the issue... thing is... is this in the instructions.. you may look like a dicck if you go in and say they did it wrong if there was no instructions, especially after you knew they were struggling lol... but if there was and they assumed they knew how to do it.. print that off show them it and I am sure they will be like ahhhh fuuuu that's why..

did you get the car back? hows it ride? did he say anything further?
go back tomorrow and tell him.. you know what I did some research about them and do you think its possible they may have been installed like this rather then this.. show on instructions.. its better to get fixed because even if the car drives decent rite now could lead to further issues down the road

Lol I checked everything before I paid him and it was correct. And the tires were aligned so I just didn't bother confronting him.
