I had the super chips flashpaq for my diesel. Tuner is pretty much the same. They make them so they fit a few different vehicles by just selecting which car you have from the selection on the tuner. Mine would work on the 4.0 v6, 4.6, 5.4, 7.3 diesel, 6.0/6.4 diesels. Then you follow the prompts and change what you want its not a bad tuner if you have bolt ons. Now you start throwin fi on it then you need a custom dyno tune.

Its cheaper and you can change things you want. With bama its more in depth than the cortex tuner.

$250 is still a good deal that's like $100-150 less than new. With bama you have to buy the tuner and sign up for free tunes (free for life). Cheapest tuner is around $400

Yes. But with the cortex your changing the same thing bama does. Only you can't modify their tune yourself you have to get them to modify it.

so bama vs cortex if they were same price.. witch they basically are brand new.. what is best option.

also is it paired to the car like say a bama tuner...
or can I use it on my car and any others.. just want to make sure if I do go ahead and buy it that I wont plug it in and find out its only compatible with that guys car...

Every programmer is vin locked once you tune your car. Once you set it back to stock setting with superchips you can go plug it into another compatible car. Diablo predator tuner you have to do like three different things to truly unlock it. Most hand helds you can only tune one car with it. Now if you spent the money on a laptop tuner like I did you can tune multiple cars like at a custom shop.

I bought a laptop tuner too but I'm still just barely learning anything about using it. I still need to buy the software program and strategy too IIRC but when I get it I'll have full blown control over every parameter there is.

Bama isn't a true tune, neither is the cortex, no canned ones are. Now... if you get an email tune from a legit dyno tuner that you can send datalogs to until he gets it right that is one thing but that's not what a bama tune is.
