EGR delete

Was going to do long tubes , but was wondering if it's a smart idea to just delete my egr so I don't have to go through the trouble of it.

But what if I just plug the egr ports up? And leave it like that, would my car act up?

I'm not too sure about plugging up the ports but I imagine that it would work the same as getting the block off plate. I got the block off plate for $10 and just got rid of the whole thing. It was really easy and looks much better. Just need to have a tuner to rid of the check engine light

Theres not much benefit at all besides having a cleaner engine bay and saving headaches by not dealing with the annoying EGR system. Sometimes the EGR system goes bad, throws codes, and has to be replaced. Instead of spending $100 to replace it, you just delete it for $10.
When you put headers in your car, you have to mess with the EGR so it's easiest just to delete it altogether.

Yes it could act up with the EGR system not working and the computer looking for it. I don't see the point to delete it. No benefit except a cleaner engine bay and these modular EGRs are not bad at all.

Well I was going to do longtubes but wonder if it would be a pain to keep the EGR system, I heard the pipe that runs from the manifold to intake can be a pain

Cut it, keep the end pieces and route some heater hose however you need to and hook it back up.

Without a tune I wouldn't bother deleting the system. I only did it because I knew I wouldn't run into any problems with my tuner.
Without a tune your car will think something is really wrong with your exhaust and try to compensate for it.

Just my personal experience with 5.0s. I did it to keep the smog pumps if I still had cats but to get rid of all the rear crossover crap. Cut the end off the EGR pipe, clamp it to a heater hose, do the same for the other end and route it so it doesn't kink and hold it in place with zip ties. Not the prettiest but functional.
