See, I've never EVER owned a v6. Did they get vinyl seats?

Well you can pretty easily tell leather from vinyl, it just feels different. Although the OEM leather in 94-04 cars is honestly pretty bad. A good vinyl is nicer but not nicer than the stuff in the S197s.

All '96 to '00 base model V6 and V8 Mustangs came with cloth seating, with leather "seating surfaces" a $500 option.

The Premium package having leather seating (again just under your butt and the seat back) was introduced in 2001.

Here is the Red Book info for '96 through '04 Mustangs...

I had my seats recovered last year. They told me that the part under your butt and you back was medium grade leather and the sides and back were vinyl. So I just went with a high grade vinyl all around so it will last longer and looks better than factory.

I can verify that good vinyl looks better than the OEM leather.
