Pvc issues

My 2001 2v wont idle correctly with a standard pvc valve. I got a oem replacement from AutoZone w/the 2 outlets one for the hose to the plenum and another that is capped off.
The only way to keep my car running after letting off the gas was to take the cap off the second outlet and put a mini breather filter on it. Its still connected to the plenum..

Any ideas what might be causing the issues?
Ive tried a few different pvc valves, I even swapped out the stock hose to the plenum with pvc hose. I'm a little stuck.
Fresh air filter and cleaned up tb.
I haven't tried cleaning the maf yet.
2v with bbk intake in the fender, and 75mm tb.
Thanks for looking

I was starting to think that may have been the cause. I'll look into it, thanks
