'02 Mustang question

I was looking at a 2002 Mustang at a tote-the-note car lot yesterday. Decent looking. Did not get on the ground and look under it though. This car had duals that looked factory but not fancy. It had no GT indications. Am I to assume this was a sixer? If so, what size motor was it?

Prolly jut a 3.8 v6 some flowmasters... Did it have a hood scoop?

It had a fake hood scoop, not very tall. The pipes just looked like two of what I would think a single exhaust has. 2" at the biggest.

Was there the mustang symbol there instead of the gt, or was it blank? If the scoop was taller than the rest of the hood then it is the hood of the gt

There was nothing on the back where a GT would be and possibly the pony-tri-bar behind the front wheel. The scoop was level with the hood. I guess that all confirms a six. Thanks to all.

V6 she is! Too bad

Also another point you could look at for the future.. If the back bumper has 2 cut outs for the pipes. That comes stock, on the v6 the cuts aren't there because stock has one exhaust pipe back behind the bumper, so it doesn't need it.

Too bad indeed. There were no cut-outs. Both pipes turned down but appeared to be stock.

They also had a '97 GT vert for $2,800, but I just didn't want a soft top and it had the ugliest 20" wheels on it. Ha!

Yeah I'd try to stay with a PI motor anyways. Verts are sweet and I will have one when I get out of college.. Til then it's just something extra to break. And yeah... 20's are not for stangs. Lol
