Anyone ever replace rod bearing with the motor still in the car

Well i think i may have hammered on her a little harder than i should have. Got a rod knock in Cylinder #6 knocks at start up and above 2500 RPM sounds OK at idle.

I have everything unbolted and going to lift the engine, I have cut a V-notch in a bock of wood and plan to jack it from the damper with a bottle jack and will support it with blocks of wood at the motor mounts. i think if i can get 3" or 4" i can get the oil pan off and pull the rod cap and measure the crank. Here's hoping

I would like to know if anyone has done this successfully ?

It's not that hard to pull the motor. It would be easier to pull it.
