This is why I always recommend buying a brand new PI intake for $215 and not having to do a replacement later when your used one starts pissing coolant everywhere.

And no, AM is not expensive, NEW **** is expensive lol. And actually $215 for a brand new intake that flows like the PI intake does is damn good, much better than $600 for a junk chinamen copy Typhoon intake.

For heads... yeah you can do those used usually because PI heads were on every other motor Ford produced from 1999-2004. Just gotta watch when you do plug changes on most of them because until 2004 the spark plug threads in the head were only 4 threads. This is fine... IF you use a torque wrench. Morons doing "finger tight and 1/4 turn" blow them out left and right.

These ARE new parts. Not used. MPS Salvage is just the name of the shop. They specialize in Mustangs. The Salvage part indicates where they buy ANY mustang regardless of shape, model, and year. They restore them and turn around and sell them. I didn't buy used parts.

I was finding heads for $400 but I'd still have to buy the cams. Which is why I need the heads to begin with. My mustang guru pointed me in their direction. They put the kits together themselves.

That $899 is for a PAIR of brand new, complete, Ford Racing PI heads.
You'd still need the intake, gaskets and bolts.

Yup, intake gaskets, head gaskets, new TTY bolts (or ARP but that's $350+) and now would be the time to do the water pump, tensioners etc...

My funds are running a bit on the low side though. This will make $2000 I've put into him in 3 weeks. I'll have to save up for that. I really REALLY need to get my temp gauge working. I've replaced both the sensor and the sender and it still doesn't work. Probably need a new cluster all together.

Well to do this you NEED headgaskets/intake gaskets and new TTY bolts. Water pump is not hard to do with the motor together though so that could wait, so could the tensioners but if your tech is in there and says they are bad... prepare thyself

This kit comes with all the gaskets and bolts. I wish their website wasn't down for maintenance so I could prove that I'm not a COMPLETE idiot lol. A kit typically indicates that everything is included. And believe me, I asked 17 times before I spent the entire $989.75 to have it shipped to my shop.

There's the list of the things that are included. The camshafts are included in with the heads.

Haha, I'm sure its fine. That is a damn good price for the whole kit. Hopefully your shop doesn't charge you a ****ton to install it all.

That's not bad at all. That has to be a solid 6-10 hours shop time so its either a really cheap labor rate or cutting you a deal or you are supplying some good beer or all of the above lol.

Haha. I'm getting a deal. He's my brother's best friend. So I grew up with him always being around all the time. Plus, I'll be right there helping too...or getting in the way lol however you want to look at it.
