Side scoop flies off in traffic! pics

So drivin home from work on the Kennedy in Chicago at ~70 mph (going with the flow) and I hear a thud that sounded like I ran over road debris. I looked in the side mirror and see a chuck of gray plastic bouncing on the road as another car runs into it and then it disappears

Get to gas station and notice that my passenger side scoop is GONE!. WTF? It just blew off in the wind.

Anyway, it looks so ghetto, I have to replace it. Im fine with the stock look, but I want to replace it cheap.

Any suggestions? and has this happened to anyone else?

well, Im kinda looking at used ebay ones right now.
I want to replace them cheap.
I dont mind painting them myself.

Are all 99-04 side scoops compatible? Bullitt, Cobra, Gt, etc? will all of them just snap right into place?

Lol
I don't understand why people are always telling us how slow that our 2V's are when, clearly, they aren't.... the fake plastic parts fly off of tnem on a regular basis!

I think that you're the first to have a side scoop fly off, since I've been on ME, but a few guys have lost hood scoops.
All of the scoops interchange.
The Bullitt scoops are hard to find but there is a guy on EBay selling a NOS Bullitt scoop for an obscene amount, right now. He, apparently, only has one side and I can't remember which offhand.
I haven't removed one yet so I'm not sure how they are fastened on but if you need any hardware the dealership is probably your best bet or do a Google search for an online source.

I had my side scoop fly off on a test drive after finishing my build. A couple months ago..

But it's because we had only had them on there mocked up with tape to see how it looked and forget we never put them back on for real. Luckily the other side stayed on. Haha

.
ya, I saw that. There is one color matched one on there right now too, but its the wrong side.

This is a very unexpected repair and not what I was planning on "upgrading" on the car, so I want to do it cheap.

I can either buy one in a different color, than paint both it and my remaining one flat black, or try to get a pair already in black...My hood scoop is already black from the previous owner.

there is a scratched up pair of black Cobra ones on there for pretty cheap. I may go that route since they are all interchangeable.

I believe we took a clip to autozone and matched them with their stock and got them cheap.

But IDR if we had done that for my good scoop or side scoops.. One of them had a bunch of pegs that popped in.

I bet you could find any style scoop for a reasonable price if you looked hard enough. The problem is, if your going to buy it used, or just ripped off another car you run the risk of it falling off again, due to the plastic clip things, (don't know what they are called) being chipped or damaged.

Im pretty sure the hood scoop bolts on, but the side scoops use retaining pins. i will use new retaining pins and 2 sided tape to replace them.
