Best longtube headers hp wise. Mac, bbk, Pypes, kooks, and pacesetters.

Which is best to least best longtube, kook, bbk, Pypes, Mac, pacesetters, jba, cam. Looking at buying Pypes longtubes just to be different but don't want it to add only 5rwhp.

Kooks and Hooker headers are the most expensive. I've looked for performance improvement numbers for all of the brands and haven't found anything, yet.

I saw 12 Rwhp increase with bbk lt and mid pipe. And 22rwhp total with a tune. I've heard kooks and hookers are the best but way out of my price range. Ik to stay away from pacesetters.

I have SLP ceramic coated longtubes, they are a great fit, great sound, and made a noticeable difference. Sorry I have no other longtubes to compare that to but they have been great for me.
As long as you get ceramic coated longtube headers, there will be minimal variance between horsepower gains between companies

I didn't think ceramic and chrome headers made a difference it hp just temp which I didn't see anything about the difference in temps between the two which would affect hp.

I forgot a bunch of other brands slp I forgot. How much are the chrome and ceramic?

ceramic headers will last a lot longer than anything else. Putting headers in is such a big job, once you do it, you won't want to do it again. So even though ceramic ones are more money, they will last you much longer. As for hp gains, they are prob the same, like you said

Beware of MAC's "Ceramic" coating. It is cheap and I'm not quite sure if its an actual ceramic or just high temp spray paint. Not even kidding I had a set for my 95 Cobra and it was flaking off in spots before even going on the car. If you are going to get a ceramic set get SLP. Kooks are going to be the very best but the SLP is the best bang for the buck easy and makes great power. Pacesetters are trash, BBK is too stupid to properly design a set of primaries that don't require a kink to clear the steering shaft and Pypes is just crappy all around.

OP-

That's a good one and I've had BBK's Ceramic Long Tubes installed on my Bullitt for over 3 years now with their O/R X and I've never had an issue. I noticed in your signature that you have a full-length mid which you're going to need to swap out for a Shorty Mid Pipe in order to run LT's. Realistically speaking you're likely going to produce an additional 10-12 rwhp because you already have an X.

Hope this helps!
