Fuel help

I am having trouble with my car getting fuel. Its a 99 gt.
Car started about two weeks ago and as soon as i went to back out of my driveway i tapped the gas and it died like it wasnt getting fuel. If i let it sit for say 3 to 4 hours it will start back up but do the same thing. Today i replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter and still having same problem. Checked the intertia switch in the trunk been reading a lot about it and that doesnt seem to be the problem. Checked the voltage to the power supply right behind the tank and it seems to have 12 volts on it. I couldnt head the pump priming before i changed it and still cant hear it priming after i changed it. the old one still works checked it when i took it out. anyone got any ideas?

I had an old Bronco II that did that when I was a kid. I didnt know how to fix it myself. My Grandpa was able to fix it for me, but I wasnt there when he did it. He told me the problem was a bad fusible link.

Im not sure where the fusible link was located, but I'm guessing it was in line to the pump somewhere and easy to overlook.

Not sure if this info will help you.

Found out today its not getting ground. Does the ground in that wiring harness ground just the fuel pump or does it work as the ground for other things as well?

The pump has it's own power and ground.
