2003 gt getting 14 mpg

I have a catback exhaust, airaid CAI and a bama tune. I data logged the tune and sent it to bama, they said everything looked good. so what else could be causing me to get such bad mpg? Any help would be good

Semtexs-

The_Chech is onto something here! To add onto what kind of driving you're doing (highway/city) can you let me know what gears you're running? When's the last time you've checked the PSI in your tires as well. Do you find yourself running one tune as opposed to another? If you're concerned that it's tune related and want to have another set up shoot us a call and we'll get you set up.

i have stock gears and use the 93 race tune. I was right around 14 mpg before the bama tune but data logged it to make sure and the tune is good so it must be my car, not really sure what could be causing it.

I average around 13 -14 city, and around 17-19 highway. I've gone as high as 22mpg highway and 11mpg city. Change your driving style.

46k? Sounds like a nice car!
It won't need new spark plugs until around 100k so no worries there.
Check the air filter and clean the Mass Airflow sensor. Also, replace the fuel filter.
That about covers the tune up.
Make sure that the tires are properly inflated.
Most importantly, if you want to squeeze the maximum mpg's out of the car, you can't "Not get on it that much". More like not get on it at all. But that's no fun.
Just be aware that the average mpg per tank drops significantly every time that your right foot suddenly becomes "heavy".

That's a weird problem to be having.. What is your shifting habits like? If you're shifting around 1800-2000rpm you should be keeping relatively high MPGs. My '02 GT when it was stock(before my new build) and the only real mod was 4.10gears would get 19-22mixed mpg. That's highway and city combined. Granted my 4.10s helped a ton in city.. But still.

You shouldn't be getting that low.

Semtexs,

Shoot Bama a call at 888.226.9764 and we'll take a closer look and have you set up with a new tune!
