So I'm guessing this is the cats seeing that. They look like they r separating from the tac welds but if anyone has input I have a rattle that is coming from under the car near the cats would this be my best bet . and if so my x pipe is bbk so if I get new cats can the be fabricated into the x pipe or should I just get the whole new x pipe..

Should be easy to detect...when the car cools off, take a screw driver, and using the handles end, rap the exhaust with it to detect the sound you are hearing. Start at the area of the cats, since you suspect their shields tack welds being broken.
Ya I think I found it the back of the exhaust is moving quite a bit and now sounds like it's coming from there.. But on the other hand I have lean codes flying at me every 100 miles I drive and cat system codes to

Or is this because of headers high flow cats and x pipe.

When is the rattle apparent right at start up and then goes away, or is it constant while driving.
Reason I ask is I have a rattle that sounds like it's coming from around where the cats are on the stock midpipe. At first I was thinking a starter issue because mine only happens right after I start it up and goes away for the most part after about 2 or 3 secs. Car also has a loss of performance almost sluggish feeling (which I know could be a lot of things) but I did have a bad o2 sensor resulting in my car running rich for a long time thinking that ask that extra fuel could have damaged the cats.
Sorry for the thread hijack

Right now at start up but im quite sure I have a hanger loose now cuz I pushed my exhaust out more and the rattle seems to had dissipated my mechanics looking at it monday when he puts my kyb agx struts and my Sr control arms. He said same thing either a cat or lose eshaust hanger or it needs nodded a little and began rubbing a metal part under the car

I did have ford check my codes and run it through diagnostics last year there response was that's what happens when u have a fully built aftermarket exhaust headers and x pipe with high flows.

The high flow cats typically don't last as long because there is less media inside of them for the exhaust to have to flow around, hence, they burn out faster.
I would suspect the exhaust system as well...
