99 cobra sputtering?

I just got a 99 cobra was told that the engine light was on due to no mil elimenators.. So I ordered so. Well yesterday I had the car on jack stands getting new wheels so I crawled under it and the front o2 sensors r connected.. So my question is what is causing it to sputter? I thought it would be bc of no o2 sensors?

Could be a couple things. Most likely not getting enough fuel, or not getting enough spark. To start, Give the car a complete tune up. Change the plugs, Replace the fuel filter, change the fluids and oil. And if that doesn't help it, It could be any number of things regarding air/fuel/or spark. If you really wanna make life easy, have the CEL read. That'll give you a great place to start. But regardless, you should give the car a basic tune up anyway.

The mil eliminators are for the rear o2 sensors anyway to make your car think you have cats on when your don't.

99 cobra sputtering?

Man, I'll be honest. I've personally never come across those codes before. Only thing I can gather from that is the car is probably running pig rich. Why? I have no idea, but here's a free bump to your thread, hoping that someone can help you out.

Edit: Upon looking into your P0602 code some more, I found on various forums that your PCM could be corrupted and need to be reflashed. Not 100% sure on this, But It's a start. Certainly would explain your symptoms to a T, from what I've been reading.

Do you have an Aftermarket tune on your cobra? If So, try resetting it to stock and see what happens. If NOT, then I would take it to a trusted Ford dealership to have it reflashed.
