Why is there a stop sign looking sticker that says police on my passenger and driver side windows? Is this showing my car has gps?
is this possible to disable and how?

maybe one of those stickers they have that allows Leo's to pull you over for no reason late at night. The idea was anti-theft......

unless it's a ticket...jk

I had one on both the driver and passenger and I peeled the driver side off thinking I don't want a police sticker on my window. Went to take the passenger side off and decided I should find out what it is even signifying.
I will post picture soon, just charging phone up.

Thieves recognize your vehicle is traceable, which deters them from stealing it.

I thought about that afterwards. Still no stickers for me thanks OR any police traceable devices.

Call whichever police department put it on there and find out wtf it is.

I had an abandoned vehicle sticker on my window last year. Turns out it was some old lady who works across the street from my computer shop and didn't like that I had taken "her" spot and reported my car as being there for several days. When in fact, it hadn't.

Police Traceable
anti theft
1800-381-2580
also has a number FC XXXX-XXXXXX

I x'd out the number because I think it is meant to identify my car.
I will call the 1800 number and ask how my car is Traceable haah
This could be interesting since even if it is a police department I do not
plan to give my name

so you had to ask what it was after it said that? That is part of some dealer installed vin etch/anti theft thing. It may have an alarm system but the sticker isn't anything of value (nor is vin etch)

^^^ This.

I'll assume the OP bought the car used, and the dealer he/she bought it from did not inform of it's meaning. It's another way for a dealer to make a few extra dollars (a dealer add on) during a sale. It's to thwart off thieves in letting them know that major body and engine parts on the car have been etched with a number that can be traced if stolen.

and by traceable it is by looking up the number and comparing it...there is NO gps or tracking system on your car.

I still would wear my tinfoil hat....just in case

Your rite, I did not own the car since new and after years of having this stickers on my car I decided to figure out exactly how my car is traceable. Figured it was just some anti theft stuff our cars came with but apparently mine is the only one. I looked up the number and yes does appear to be an add on and I would just like to know where the etching is or what specifically is police traceable.. Would be nice to know if or where my engine parts are stamped with this special number. Never know what the future holds, maybe a good selling feature or could help me recover my car one day. If gps then would be un installed.
But in the end it is an option on my car and beneficial or not I just was looking to find out more information on it.
