long tube header install.

Hey guys.

Got a question about this install.
I know that i have to drop the K-frame, that's not the issue ,
what is the issue is holding the motor up when i do that.
I happen to have a OCT transverse engine support bar that i can modify to do the job, what i need to know is where should i bolt on lift shackles on the motor.
I have the intake removed along with most of the A/C system piping and the pump removed also. still have to remove the power steering and brake assist hoses to make more room.

before anyone says why do long tube headers i think everyone should know the Mustang is not my daily driver and that this is something that MY WIFE is letting me do. how many guys here can say that. no disrespect intended. nothing but respect.

What I did when I installed my longtubes and tubular K is I took a floor jack with cardboard and supported the engine from the oil pan, maybe not the best option but it's all I had. Worked out great for me. Just take everything gently and take your time. It's really quite easy just time consuming

You can just rent an engine hoist

The engine hoist might be the better choice . I was just trying to get more room to manuver under the stang. I have alignment paint lines on all bolt/mount points for the k-frame to put it back as close as possible. do i let it hang on the bolts ? and if so how long are the bolts and how far do i let it hang.

I would not let it hang on the bolts. They arent gonna be long enough. I dropped the K member straight to the ground. Then used a jack and wood (like mentioned earlier) and jacked it up as high as it would let me before the tranny hit the body. That gave me plenty of room to install my LT's. Now I did it by myself, with hand tools, and it took me 11 hours to do. Next time, I'm gonna pay someone to do it, or wait until I would have to pull the motor out for another reason.
