Because I REALLY don't want to do that lol. It looks nearly impossible to get to the filter properly without taking the fender off.

I'm assuming it's a JLT in the fender type CAI?
If so....

Look here:

Fender does NOT have to come off.

You can get any reasonably sized filter into the fender by just reaching up from underneath and putting it on. This is what I did for my true CAI in my 95 Cobra. Have to work by feel but its not hard.

Yes have someone underneath feel for the bolts. Guide them or have them guide you.

Or, remove a couple of push pins and screws and remove the fender splash guard...

Not sure why you would think of removing the fender when you can remove the splash guard in a couple of minutes?

It would still be awkward even with the splash guard off. It's just something you should wait to do with a buddy for the extra hands.

You don't need to remove anything. Ppl who have done an install on an in-fender CAI know its not a big deal, ppl who have not done it can keep offering other suggestions lol.

I've installed and removed the one on my 99 several times. On some cars, it's just easier to pop out the splash shield and be able to see what you are doing instead of blindly reaching around inside the fender well.

Lift the car remove the splash guard and you're good to go.
Taking off the wheel can help but isn't necessary
