Custom Dyno tune tomorrow

Finally getting the car tuned to try and tie every thing in tomorrow after adding a few things. Hopefully it will put out a bit more then 250 that's the goal

Not really sure what to expect first time ever getting a car dyno tuned, kinda excited!

Seen other people getting any where from 260-280 with similar mods with the exception of them having long tubes. Hoping to get passed the 250 mark

Well just got done here and it made more then I thought it would today. Totally worth the custom tune to tie every thing in. Did a total of 5 runs and 2 at the end to make sure it was consistent. At the made 261rwhp and 301tq. Click image for larger version

BBK mid pipes fit great on these cars, I have a catted one. It's more of an X/H Hybrid honestly.

And to the OP, congrats on the numbers and big kudos for doing this the CORRECT way instead of a guesswork mail order tune. Now get out to the 1/4 track and get some timeslips. If your suspension setup is decent and you can drive you should be able to nail a high 12.

Actually it had a leak in it where the cat back exhaust meets the mid pipe it was pretty bad. But me and a buddy got creative and welded a 2.5 flex pipe where it should meet so it can move some like it was intended. I'll have to take a picture of it later. I wasn't too worried because all of this will be changed later, don't like the whole idea of the exhaust doing a complete 90' turn thing. Definitely fixed the leak though lol.

Thanks Scotty! figued I'd spend about the same on it either way might as well do it right. I will have to upgraded parts of the suspension now to be able to control it better. First gear is a pita now trying to launch.

I can't say it was the Xpipe itself it might of been how my magnaflows are set up since they dump exhaust out of the side and possibly tweaked them in some to of caused the leak and figured welding in a flex pipe will allow freedom of movement and seal it at the same time.

Here's mine. BBK catted. No idea why yours isn't fitting, it probably is the Roush side exhaust.

Yes I know I need to get subframes on this car. I've been lazy and other stuff keeps coming up...

Thats why I just bit the bullet and welded them since the shorter bit of piping is only clamped at the muffler itself. Which subframes were you looking at?

Going to get the Steedas whenever I get around to it. Local installer gets them at a discount and fully installed/sealed/rustproofed they are $400 cash.

That's why I was so tempted to buy a welder and learn to weld

I have a welder, its a crappy fluxcore one, but I could learn to weld. My bigger problem with installing the subframes is trying to weld on my back with all 4 corners up on ramps. IMHO, its way easier to pay a pro that has a good lift and can knock it out in 2 hours to do the subframes and coat them so they are sealed which is what I've always done.

That's not to bad either on price really close to 200 for the subframe connectors and another 200 for install. I'm just worried about how my exhaust is set up coming out of the side to get some. Just afraid the pipe will literally rest on the connectors if I install them. I think spin tech made some that were meant to have a section smaller to allow for the side dumping exhaust but have yet to find them.

I got Travis with the 68 to weld mine in hehe. He did a pretty good job. Took 4 hours I think laying on our backs.

Hey now, we can't all have a purdy torque arm setup. How do you know there isn't a built IRS back there?

I have a little 120v Lincoln flux core. I wasn't sure about it at first but it really comes in handy for small, thin-material jobs, like exhaust. And I can use it outside and not worry about the wind blowing the shielding gas away from the weld.
After you learn the basic principles of welding, its just a matter of practicing. And it's kind of fun!

Yeah that's why I wanted to learn back when I had my Xterra a buddy of mine used to fabricate bumpers and roll cages I just never got the chance to give it a try and learn the ways. Really wish I had now
