Speedo Off, but Odometer is accurate?

Hi all, picked up a 2003 GT a few weeks ago, and the speedo is off by around 6-7 MPH. I have checked it against two different GPSs. I was thinking I could get a programmer and fix it, but I checked the odometer, and it is dead on. Also, I ran the diagnostic tool on the dash, and the digital speedo is dead on. It is just the needle on the gauge that is off. Anybody know what might be causing this or how to fix it?

Ah, did a little research on the white gauge faces, and I'm sure that's the problem. Thanks, guys!

Also verify your tach is correct via the digital readout. Old trick we used to set the speedo is to run on the highway with cruise on and the clear plastic cover off the cluster. Once the car settles on a straight stretch of highway just stick the needle on the speedo to match the digital speedometer and there you go. You can also verify with a GPS.

Thanks, yeah, I've verified that the digital one is dead on, so I can just use it. The tach is off by about 100 rpm too. I'll do what you recommended.

Oh, do I need a special tool to remove the needles? Or can I just pop them off with a small screwdriver?

Be really careful you don't scratch the gauges. Actually a fork doubles as a needle removal tool.
