Tune the computer or swap an A9L (requires a repin/bap/fan controller/ignition box for A9L swap). In stock form, the 94/95 computer has VERY conservative fuel tables and pulls timing in between shifts which is called "tip-in ******". Once you tune the computer or swap it, they feel like completely different cars. I did not believe this until I did it in my 95 Cobra and it woke the hell up with no other changes.

Today I took my friend for a spin and gave it the beans merging on to the throughway, with overdrive off and it didn't want to leave second. I swear to god the computer in the 94-95's are complete trash. It idles like crap, takes 4 years to shift and it feels like the car runs hard some days and others it's like meh. If I want to gaurentee a hard run I disconect the battery for 10 mins and when I start it instantly start driveing it, and don't let it 're learn it's idle for a little while. I find the car runs like a savage when I do this. But if it idles for 3 mins the power goes away.

When I had my 95 Cobra stock it felt like it had a parachute behind it unless I went WOT and even then it didn't feel right until the higher RPM band. A9L fixed this but only works if one has a manual trans. For an auto, take your car to a tuner and get it dialed in.

Like I said, I don't know how much longer I'm going to have this car so I kind of stoped putting money into it. This is good info though. And it does feel like a slug unless your doing over 35 hundred. If I do end up getting it tuned I would throw the explorer intake on, just for kicks.

Fill your tank with high octane fuel and advance your timing to 15 degrees.

I think she developed as miss. Today I was in traffic and was playing with the pedal and right around 1000 rpms the car shakes like it has a dead skip. But any other rpm and it feels fine

Are the cap, rotor, spark plugs and plug wires in good shape?

This could be a sign of the dizzy on the way out. When the dizzy went out on my 95 it did this and failed about 100 miles later. Basically the PIP (pickup) in the dizzy overloads the coil and the coil fails. You can replace the coil and it'll fail again 50-100 miles later... ask me how I know. Hopefully this isn't what is happening to you.

It has been doing it for a while so I don't know. Going to gradually change things until it fixes. I'll start with plugs, wires, and a cap and rotor. I'm thinking motorcraft cap and rotor, frpp 9mm wires, and e3 diamond fire plugs. What do you reccomend. I'm pretty shure mine has a duralast cap and rotor on it right now, and bosh wires, with the cheapst ngk's available.

I like the Accel caps because they have brass inserts rather than aluminum and they are generally less expensive than Motorcraft.
I usually just use whatever the factory recommends for the spark plugs. No need for anything fancy.
Your choice of wires is good.

So the accel caps are good? I have heard several times that msd Is utter and complete garbage. I don't know why I associate the two but maybe i will give accel a shot. Also the accel coil looks nice. The motor craft plugs are pretty much the same price

Lol
I actually like MSD cap and rotors as well.
What you've heard is mostly true.
Caps and rotors are about the extent of the products that I like from either of those companies. Again, because of the brass terminals.

So I just installed a oem style replacment cap&rotor from accel. I got it from advanced auto parts for $23. I immediately noticed a big difference. The plugs actually are motor craft and the cap and rotor that was on there was a duralast... Figures it went bad so quickly. The accel cap&rotor fixed the miss, the car idels smooth now, before it sounded like it had a miled cam. Now at 1000 rpm holding thr brake the whole car dosent shake viciously anymore. Very happy my dizzy isn't dying knock on wood. My only concern is I have had the miss for a while, and I'm afraid the cylinder that had a dead skip has a fouled out plug. It runs fine now, but I should probably pull all 8 plugs wire wheel and re gap them right?

Good!

I usually just replace all of the spark plugs if I go through the trouble of removing them. Depending which spark plugs, with some, its not recommended to clean and re-gap them.

Now that you're starting to get the engine running good, you should take the Throttle Body off and clean it and also do the same to the Mass Airflow Sensor.

It doesn't make any sense to try to "tune" an engine that really needs a tune-up. You're doing this in the right order...
