Looks alright, not my flavor though as you asked what we all thought. I am guessing you are doing an airbag delete, is that correct? Is that legal in your neck of the woods?

I think the non-airbag wheels look wonky in the SN95s but if its your cup of tea go for it. I would just purchase a Redline steering wheel recovering kit for $100 if it was me since finding a new FR500 wheel is not exactly easy and when you do they are $500-$600 lol. The Redline stuff looks/feels factory and you can customize it to whatever color you want.

What is so special about the FR500 wheel that brings that kind of money? I know it has the perforated leather covering, but for that kind of money? I am in the wrong line of business, wait, I forgot, I am retired. LOL

Its thicker, its perforated and, most importantly, its OEM. They also have been OOP for years.

I might do that I just hate the way the new edge steering wheels look also I like to have stuff that makes my car unique that most other new edges around my area won't have lol!!!

Ford Mustang Ford Racing FR500 Steering Wheel - 24009 by Ford Racing

a bit pricey but hey, what's 250 bucks for something your going to use and experience every day. Looks great, feels great. I have one or one similar in my cobra and vs the skinny wheel in my GT .. what a difference.

and the cost you will save sending back the hub and not buying the momo wheel should help buy this one if not save you some coin. It should install just as the stock one does.

looks similar to stock but its a lot thicker and actually looks more suitable for our cars. All depends what you like of course, if your looking for more of a tuner style you could get a wheel that's like a momo a red and black one to suit your car but the cleanest upgrade would be that fr500 in my opinion.

And then the bonus to that is you get to keep your cruise controls and air bag and it installs just like stock so you shouldn't experience any issues

Yea that was one of the things I didn't like about getting an aftermarket wheel. I didn't want to get rid of all that stuff so I'll probably get the fr500.

They've been out of production forever, also they came in 2 colors, charcoal and black. That looks sketch to me or an outdated website or both. I'd call them honestly.

I'm in the same boat as you. After my Sparco EVO seats I will need a racing wheel to finish up the cockpit. Still deciding on one, but won't do it until the car isn't my daily driver. As much as I want the wheel the air bag saving my life is more important.

That would suck if you get shipped in a fake one I've seen some bad reviews on how the fake ones flex and are poor quality.

Yea safety first always that's why I don't care about the air bag cause I don't use her as a DD i use my Lincoln navigator which is still pretty fun to drive.

As long as you are wearing your seatbelt, all the airbag is going to do is spray a bunch of 13 yr old junk into your face when it goes off.

Lol that would suck I've never been in a wreck so I have never even seen an airbag deploy especially not a 13 year old piece of junk one.

Airbags are a gov't thing that took off and now if you say they are useless ppl look at you like you are crazy. If you remove them from your car willingly ppl think you've committed some sort of crime. My father had red eyes and a bruise on his face from the damn thing when he wrecked a 96 vette a few years back. Other than that, not a scratch on him because... he was buckled up. I have half a mind to remove the airbags from my 98 so I don't have to worry about that happening to me if god forbid I wreck it and also so my 5 yr old can ride up front with me. That's the only reason kids can't ride up front these days, if the airbag goes off in a fender bender it'll take their head off. Really safe item...

Yea I know someone who's relative died in a crash, they survived that part but it was the air bag that got them.

Yea In some cases they could help but something minor enough where they really don't need to deploy but deploy that would hurt BAD especially if it was a child it could possibly even kill the child.

Yeah, at Torx 50 lol. When was the War of 1812 again? Buy it wherever around you sells tools. Harbor Frieght, Sears, Home Depot/Lowes might carry it etc... The Google, she knows much.

Well most manufacturers have realized that all parents do not read the warnings of airbags and what not. So, to help with airbag deployment and child safety, they the manufacturers came out with 2 things, one being a airbag switch to activate or deactivate by driver the front passenger airbag when driving. That option was really for a single occupant (driver) and in case of accident the d/s airbag only would deploy. Secondly the weight requirement in most cars, the passenger front seat has a weight sensor that tells the computer if there is a minor in the front seat or a person under 90 lbs, if the person is under 90lbs, the airbag will remain deactivated, but once a person over 90lbs sits in the seat, the airbag is active.
