I paid $8k for a 2002 CRV back in 2012 and that was a great car. Not fast, not great looking but got 25mpg and could haul a lot of things if I wanted it to. Interior on it looked new too, just had a tear in the driver's seat which I paid $140 for the cover from Honda and then replaced myself. Something like that. I dunno.

But your math is about right for a 2.5% loan if you qualify for that. That is the rate I get for 4 year used car loans. My CU does 2.75% for a 5 year and 2.25% for a 3 year.

Yup, you don't need to waste 17k or $200/mo on payments for a daily. That's money you can use on your hobby (the bullitt) and savings. Once you get done with school and have a garage to protect your cars, then it's cool to buy more expensive rides. IMO of course.

If you autocross your daily you're just going to start to spend money on that that can go to the Bullitt instead. Been there, done that. Had a CSVT and my Cobra and money that could have gone to the Cobra went to making the CSVT handle better and perform better since I was in it so much more. My advice, get something you will never in a million years think of racing in any capacity and put the money to the car that will actually benefit from it.

Like I said, get a small 4 banger "crossover" that has zero performance potential ever so you won't want to mod it. Although I belonged to a CRV forum and there were ppl who were spending $thousands on wheels/suspension and even turbo kits. Effing ridiculous.

There is this guy who autocrosses a stock Scion X8, that has a good set of tires, and the dude is pretty fast in that thing! He actually beat me one time! Lol. I was having a bad day...

You can go out and have a good time with practically anything!

Might get an internship with Northwestern Mutual. It's looking promising. If I do then I'll be driving a lot and meeting with potential clients. So I'll need something a bit better than a beater.

Maybe I can borrow the Corvette lmao

I would drive the **** out of one.
I remember back when I had my cobra, my friend Daniel had a 90 fox. Heads, cam, exhaust.
We were sitting at heb, a red Srt4 pulled up driver walked inside. Walked over to the car, his girlfriend said " he will be out in a minute ".
WELL Daniel got his *** handed to him twice. He ran over to sonic poped his hood, I swear he was about to cry. Then he got all pissy and went home.

Biggest issue with the SRT4 was the crowd that owned them back when they were newer. Biggest toolsheds on the planet from my experience.

Anyway, I still say Soccer should get something like a real clean E36 BMW 3 series. They run forever, they look great, interiors are good and they aren't exactly expensive these days. Even an E36 M3 that is in perfect working order with lower miles is going to be under $10k. I've even seen some E46s dipping down into the low $teen range but those are almost all with the SMG trans or need a lot of work.

Does that include Porsche?

What?!? There's nothing wrong with European cars... Just as long as they are covered under the factory warranty!

I love going to my dads and grabbing the keys to his 2013 range rover. Supercharged 5.0. It actually gets up and moves also.

You've been smart with your money so far soccer, if you buy a Euro car, it will be one of the worst decisions you can make. Domestic or Asian are the ones to look for. VW, BMW, Audi, and all the other euro cars, stay away from them...

Yea ideally I would prefer import or domestic (most likely Ford if domestic)

The bmw guys say it's not terrible if you do all the work yourself. That said, enthusiasts will always say that and it's definitely more than a domestic or a Honda.

Of course Bmw guys will say that, and they're wrong. The cars are garbage there's no argument. They are poorly made and overpriced and overrated...
95 was the last good BMW after that they decided to ruin their cars...
