Glad you got that bolt figured out. It could have become a real safety hazard.

The seats are working. A car a few lanes over at a light had 2 girls in it and one honked a few times and her friend was yelling at her, then she finally rolled down the window and yelled "your hot!!!", had to turn right though.

Thanks.

They are the Corbeau FX1 Pro.

They are really comfy when you are in the seat. Although since they are a fixed back seat with extra leg bolstering they are a lot harder to get in and out of. And when you are in the seat one of the bolsters is right in the way of getting a good hold on the ebrake so I feels a bit weird pulling it up and disengaging it.

That being said they are definitely comfortable and you sit in a nice position. And they definitely hold you in.

I would really recommend them for if you have a 5pt harness plus the harness bar and do a lot of aggressive driving. If you are keeping the stock seat belts and you don't do a lot of hard cornering then a different seat may be best for you.

2001 Bullitt Build Thread

Drove 2 hours today and 2 hours back from the Ecoboost challenge with a few other guys on here. Seats worked great.

Straybullitt pointed out my car is smoking a bit more lately. I'm pretty sure it's the valve seals (hoping it's not the rings)...
Who wants to help me swap the heads? Lol. Or pull them and do the seals. Never done this stuff before. Can pull a set of junkyard heads but I've never done any engine work so i know I would F it up.

Yeah. I need to look into why my car is using so much oil as well. As I said, I haven't noticed it smoking, but I'm never behind the car to see. That oil is going somewhere and it's not leaking it out.
I have a fresh set of ported heads that I could swap, but I wanted to use them on my Teksid block, in the other car.
I'm hoping that it is something as simple as valve stem seals... For both our sakes!
Your car does show the symptoms of bad seals, the way that it was smoking after sitting for a bit. By the time that we got halfway to the arena, it looked like it had stopped smoking.
I don't know what's up with my car though. It does get driven hard fairly frequently, maybe it's a combination of that, high mileage, and using 5w20 oil.
I'm not sure if you can replace the seals with the heads installed on the engine, on these motors, or not. It is possible to do it on pushrod engines.
It might be helpful to pull all of the spark plugs out and see if you can tell which ones look like they are getting oil fouled. It may be just a single cylinder that is getting oil into it.
I'll look at the repair manual tomorrow, and see what it says about replacing the seals on these modular engines.

I've looked up videos and guides. It doesn't seem all too hard. I just don't know how the proper way to put a cam back in and then degree everything and line back up the chains.

And that's exactly why it nearly failed smog last time. Actually failed the first time. They let it idle for a few minutes then blipped the throttle, that's when it smoked.

Ok crazy thought an idk if this would relate. But remember my 2 spark plugs I killed? What if it were those 2 cylinders getting the oil and that's why they grounded themselves. I'm not sure if they even relate at all. But what do you think?

Given that history, I would definitely look closely at those two cylinders.

I just looked at the plugs (yes i still have them lol). They don't look too bad. One of them the porcelain part may show signs of it. I'll see if i can get a picture where the camera can focus that close.

You shouldn't be too concerned about the porcelain part, it is the electrode part that will show signs of oil contamination.
The one in the first picture looks pretty black to me.
Those plugs are not really a good representation, though, because you drove with them not firing, and them getting washed with gasoline, for a good long distance.

That first one is REALLY black!
Do you remember if it felt wet and oily when you removed it?

I don't remember it being oily when i took it out. I also don't remember which cylinder that was lmao. Was either #1 or 3.

I just looked at the original pictures, from when you removed them, and they look about the same.
Any oil on them would have been washed away by the gasoline running through the non-firing cylinders on your drive home.
When you remove them now, the spark plugs are all firing, so the fuel won't have "washed away" the evidence. In theory.
That plug in the first picture is what you will be looking for... One or more that are much darker than all of the rest.
