Particularly interested in the front crash bar and the brake kits these guys make btw.

This 2000 of mine has the Steeda Brembos on the front but they are still just the regular GT diameter. I wonder if I could put a set of S197 Brembos up front and them move the existing Brembos I have out back... I know there are kits to put front Mustang calipers to the rear axle.

Well the car is pissing coolant. Its leaking pretty badly from one of the hoses right next to cylinder 8. Left a puddle in my garage that i didn't notice until i drove to the gym and it started misfiring because it was dripping right onto #8. Getting pretty damn tired of this car.

Just remember homie, if you buy a used car ur buying someone elses problems with it and you don't know what they are and have to figure out, atleast with your car you know everything about it, hoses, brakes, suspension components,belts,tires...ect (u get the point) are all wear items and will have to be replaced on ANY car you buy eventually... If u did anything i would just fix what you have or motor swap it

The car was 100% stock when I got it and I bought it from a dealer, the first year and a half were great, lately it's been problem after problem though. It is higher miles also. Albeit I do beat the **** out of the car when I drive it.

The full driveline will be swapped/upgraded after I finish college. Just having to deal with this in the mean time is frustrating.

Soccer, thanks for the reference. I'm bookmarking it, too.

I was relooking your hook pics and think I saw a sunroof. Have you discussed that in this build thread? I have half-heartedly looked for a sunroof, but our roof is a tough shape to get sealed.

2001 Bullitt Build Thread

Well when you beat the **** out of cars, they tend to break quicker. Especially on high mileage cars. So, maybe try a change in driving habits?

No can do. If didn't want to drive the car hard i would have bought a civic instead. A redline a day is mandatory.

Its not like half the cars on the road aren't beat on just the same. The only difference between mine and some random guy in a civic is mine has a V8 and loud exhaust. I drive our truck just as hard and it has more miles and zero engine issue. I take extremely good care of this car. I just like to drive it like it was built for. Always let it idle for a while, and wait for it to get to operating temp before pushing it.... Never just hop, start it and then floor the pedal.

Reflection. Ok. Thanks. I could not tell on the pic with your car faceing to the left. The black area on the roof looked rectangular from my iPod.

It is most likely the reflection of the tree across the street.

Eh, a hose blowing is not a huge deal. Sucks but at least you don't have the plastic intake to worry about cracking.

Replace hose for like $10, burp the system, keep on trucking.

As for changing driving habits... These cars respond better if you beat on them anyway. If it breaks because it gets redlined it was going to break anyway.

Well looks like a cheap enough fix. The hoses themselves are in tact. Found the connector at O'reilly for like $6. I'll pick one up after work.

It would be a bold statement, but I think that your car could pull it off...
Lol
Is that duct tape covering up the missing third brake light?!?

My car is out of commission.
Are you doing Mather this weekend?

You should just punch some speed holes in the car. They make it go faster.

Went to an autocross today. It was a little too fast for my car. Being that there were points I had to choose to shift to 3rd or let off early. And 3rd wasn't an option due to my ****ty transmission.

Aside from that I have an absurd about of understeer that needs to be fixed.

In the near future most likely not much due to rent and tuition. I can only afford to take out $20 per week for mods. But there are big plans for the car later

Like I said, anyone can jump into a GT-R and turn a decent lap.

So it turns out that I wouldn't have been able to attend even if my car was running... There is a huge wildfire up here and they closed the highway that leads to Sac.

That GT-R looks so plain next to the C7. Do you guys know if the C7 gearing is as long as the C6 in first? I feel like that long first gear could be great for an autocross track

This was a faster track with tight turns at the end of the straight away. Definitely not a good course for my car. I would have had to go into 3rd on the longer parts and then go right I to a hair pin and understeer through it
