Hey Andrew, what brakes are you running. I saw a long while back you have drilled and slotted rotors.

IIRC he is on the stock Bullitt setup which is the same as the Cobra and the Mach. Its actually a pretty good setup if you get the right pads and rotors. Noticeably better stopping power than a GT.

Stock Bullitt brakes. The 13" 2 piston fronts and 11.65" 1 piston rear brakes.
They are decent, but i'm sure as soon as i put a better tire on this i'll need better brakes. So i'll probably go with the FTR adapter to run the 14" 4 piston Brembos. But that won't be for a while because i'm broke lol

BTW i do have that video of the apartment situation. Just have not had a chance to upload it to my computer to put up here. Busy studying for this 3 hour, 58 page test today for Financial Management (yes you read that right).

The rotors are.... But still same overall braking set up. Calipers and lines are stock.

Different rotors realistically give absolutely zero performance increase. MAYBE a bit extra cooling, but i'm pretty sure if i pushed them to the point where they needed that extreme cooling, they would crack.

2001 Bullitt Build Thread

Are those the powerstop brand?

Just wondering what brand they are. I am about to spend almost 600 on brakes and was wondering if the powerstop brake kit on AM was worth a darn vs DBA and hawk.
The powerstop kit would save me almost $200

My rotors are actually Brake Motive (EBay). The pads are Hawk HPS. Good enough for a street car. Of course when I get hardcore into racing all of that will be garbage. Will need quality rotors and Carbotech pads.

Lol cherry picker then hook electric wench on the end of it..lower the cable down then pick it up lol, but anywayz it would be alil tedious to get a longblock up and down levels and into an apartment, id rathar find a cheap storage unit and build it there once u got most of the parts, cuz then u could swap it in there too ive seen many do it that live in apartments cuz most time they dont like u working on stuff in the parking lot , but start saving and do her right shes begging for it lol

Look up Fully Torqued Racing. Owner is a friend of mine. There is a bracket and a short spacer you have to run behind the rotor for it to work properly.

That's the plan. I save money regularly (I invest it), so if I have to pull from there I can. But I'm waiting until I have a solid job, and another car before I do a build. But if I'm still in apartments then I'll do a storage unit.

Does anyone have any experience with the power stop kits? I have read that they're cheap Chinese castings then finished here.

I'm running them, and yes, they suck. Rotors squeaked for about 2 or 3 months and the pads started cracking immediately, they're actually falling apart right now (pads).

I have one just like that. Except it is a little further back, on the quarter panel.
It was a Chevy Trailblazer that did mine.

I have other tiny ones around the car that are no big deal. But this one sticks out like a sore thumb. I'll probably have to get someone to PDR this one

Ya unfortunately ppl dont respect ur stuff, ur car is nice but imagine if it was an exotic.... A pdr shud be able to fix it they are good and its in a spot where u can get behind if u remove the door panel, sux bad, i had one happen behind door in the quarter where pdr couldnt get it and had to pay outa pocket for it to be fixed and repainted/blended... And it seems the ford red i have is one of the most expensive right under a chameleon or something..$1200 later it was back to normal😢

Sometimes, when I'm sitting in my truck, someone will pull into the space next to me, throw their door open into the side of my truck, and then get out and walk into the store like nothing happened!
Lol. My truck is an early 90's F-series with the moulding that runs down the entire side of the truck. I park it anywhere! The closest spot! And it doesn't have a door ding on it!
It still pisses me off when people do it though.
I will actually get out of the truck, walk around to the passenger side, and swing the door open right into their car...WHAM!!!
And then drive off... Like nothing happened. With a big ol grin on my face.
I'll even do it if their stupid passengers hit my truck with their door. Yes, even kids! I don't discriminate.
It's actually easier when passengers make that mistake. I don't even have to get out of the truck. I just wait until they walk away and...WHAM!!!

When I had my beater Honda this jerk parked so close to my driver side door I couldn't even lift the door handle. I was furious. He got what was coming to him. I'm a disabled vet and I had to climb through the the passenger side to get in.

And i do have space in my room to build the engine. But i'm also on a 2nd floor apartment so getting it to the first floor would be a challenge in itself lmao. Then the car port is literally the size of my car, and right behind it is an incline, so i can't just back it up lol.

TOB is common for cars mine has been whining for over a year now since I replaced it

I'm never going to sell this car.

But there is still so much I want to do, performance wise and visual. But the visual will most likely be a result of the performance. Big plans for the car. Just can't execute quite yet
