Heck yea man. Once he does it, he will realize how simple it is and where he can cut time.

Regular floor jack piece of wood and a ratchet strap.

I don't think that I could do it that fast. Even when I was younger!
I'd spend two hours cleaning up the bottom of the car after the transmission and drive shaft are removed! Haha

Never done a clutch swap before, so it'll probably take a bit longer than that lol

I don't have a special transmission jack or hoist or anything. Just a floor jack, jack stands, and a bunch of hand tools, and some cordless drills lol... My friend is helping me so i'll either do Raps suggestion, or i'll bench press that f'er out lol. Heard the 3650s aren't that heavy when fluid is drained.... I'll probably go with the former tho lol.

Doing a bunch of other stuff. Like the cable, fork, quadrant, and firewall adjuster.

They really are not too heavy, but a couple of pieces of wood and the strap on a floor Jack like Rapinator suggested is the way to go. Then once it's as low as it can go, if it won't clear the car, just yank it off the Jack and drag it out. I've done several trans swaps and never once did I have more than a jack and some jack stands. You will be fine.

Stopping to have burgers it took my dad and I 3.5 hours to do the trans/clutch/flywheel start to finish.

I've done a t5 in 2 hours.

HUGE wheel sales at AM. I could not resist. Been wanting these as track wheels for a long time, finally pulled the trigger. Now i can finally sell the stock wheels and tires, which will more than make up for it.

$188 out the door for 4 18x10s lol

Small spacer in front and negative offset to clear the fender if you are low like i am... So the plan is a very small hub centric spacer when i figure out how much clearance i need. Then ARP extended studs to ensure they don't break lol

This is my current 18x10 with a 285/35-18 on it. -1.4* offset on the car currently. New wheels are the same offset. It cleared, but hit the sway bar on full lock.... But i wouldn't go full lock on a race track or autocross

So if I was to get those same wheels I could just throw them on the 2000 with some small spacers up front???? It has 285/35/18 Nittos on all 4 corners as it is but with 18x9s.

Edit: Jesus... Saleens are on sale too, so are silver FR500s and chrome 2010 GT500 wheels... all 18x10s and all under $70 each at most... I did just get tax returns... but still might be cheaper to get 17s with the Mickeys already on vs what 18" rubber costs.

I hate you Soccer.

Edit 2: Jesus H Christ MMD Silvers on sale for $50 each too???? Wth when did AM have this massive *** wheel sale?

Thank you Scotty for mentioning the MMD silver wheels!! Saw this post and went directly to their site and ordered a set of 18x9, 18x10s. I remember saying a couple weeks ago Ill know what wheels to get when I come across the right deal and the decision is usually financially based at that point, well it was true, lol!! Got the set for 281 shipped with the forum discount. Saved like $500!! Wanted charcoal but I can compromise on silver, silver on silver is a nice combo too. Thanks again, man!

Now to find damn tires on sale or slightly used. May be able to beat Milehigh JDFs wheel package price at this point.

lol i know. My friend asked me if i had a coupon code cause they were having a big sale on wheels. So i looked and had the same reaction. Debated for about 10 minutes then caved. No money for tires any time soon.... But i'll probably throw a set of 295/35-18 NT05s on when the time comes.

I'll sell my stock wheels and tires, and that will more than pay for these wheels and then i will put the rest of what i get toward my clutch that i have to pay off (paypal credit).

Yeah we will see, but if I find tires it will be hard to beat the quality of tire you got cheap so you still win, lol. In all honesty Ill probably get a set of Sumis to keep my budget lower and maybe add some things I wasnt going to do.

I wouldn't say that I got a quality tire, they're a 10 year old design and I'm having issues not blowing them off in 2nd gear right now.

So soccer... Did you have to do any clearancing or anything to put 18x10 up front? I want to grab some wheels possibly before this sale is over.

Only issue is... With good tires it still comes close to the combo price point of a staggered 17" setup with Mickeys not on sale.

Htrz 3 tires are cheap and from everything I have read they are a good street tire. And at $100 less than Mickeys and $75 less than BFG...

But still paying a premium for 18s.

The only issue i had with 18x10 up front was on full steering lock they touched the sway bar... But that was with zero suspension load on the front end. I never did actually drive them, so i can't say for sure if it would be the same with load on the suspension and actual driving.

So a spacer should fix that issue. Then the only other part would be clearing the fender, i already have a little negative camber... But will probably add more, and maybe raise the car up. With the spacer and the overall width of the wheels more than likely longer wheel studs will be required up front.

If and when i do the K member and A arms, that will determine my height because i will try to keep the A arms as horizontal as possible.

I've seen other people fit 18x10s up front with similar tires. You just have to be very precise with the offset and the camber, and of course not be slammed to the ground.

If it's not a corner carver car I wouldn't bother with 10" all around honestly.

I want to get it that way eventually tho. Need to price out exactly how much a wheel and tire setup is going to be with decent tires. Still kicking myself for passing on a set of mint 00R wheels last year

The wheels that you already have on the car are perfect for a good handling setup. I think that 275's might be a better fit for 9 inch wheels, but, as you've said, different manufacturers have different widths.

I don't mind the hijacking lol. This thread has died down. Nice to be back to life.

I would love the NT01s, but those are more expensive. And I'm wondering if the 305 will work well since they don't have 295.... Plus with the NT05 I'll learn as a driver better. And I'm sure I'd have fitment problems up front with 305.
