Question Help with Frankenstein swap

I am in the progress of a 5.4 swap, which I know has been done to death, then revived as a zombie. Only thing is, I refuse to go 4V due to it being more complicated and having a stock 2V computer. It is going to be a weekend car, not a 800hp fire breathing beast. My dad got me a block as a gift, but it happens to be a DOHC Intech out of a navigator. Will 2V heads work on the block?

2v heads will fit. The 5.4 2v really is a dead end though. The only one really worth all that time and effort is the 4v.

True to that, but this car is the weekend ride. I will make a full on race build next time. I want to rebuild the 5.4 with forged internals, 10.5 or 11 to 1 compression, trick flow twisted wedge race heads, Frankenstein intake as well as full racing exhaust. And yes I will cut the transmission tunnel to fit the headers. I want a nice 93 race tune on it as well. Looking for 400 to 500 hp. And if she gives me a bit of trouble doing it I will throw in some spray.

I would also consider running a DOHC set up if I could use the stock gt computer with a tune

You will not hit 500 hp na with that compression ratio.
The 2v 5.4 is a hunk of crap

Alright then, I have recently been talked into going DOHC. Is there any way to run it with a GT computer? I want a weekend bruiser, not a competitive race car. I want as few electrical and structural changes as possible..... besides the ones I already made exceptions on ( it will have LT headers even if I have to cut and weld). I am new to the world of engine swaps so I am thankful for any help.

I know people that have put a mark8 motor in the gt and ran it on the stock computer until they got it tuned, the issue with the stock computer is the rev limiter and such just google mark8 swap and see what they did for the computer/electrical part of it as yours will be similar

Thanks for the lead. I found a video explanation and traced it down to. 32VNomad who actually did a DOHC 4.6 and he helped me out. I am all on board the DOHC bandwagon. He ran it with a stock gt computer. Do you think 500 HP at about 6500RPM sound possible. Large throttle body, ported heads, cams with enough lift and duration to send the valve trough the firewall into my face, as well as LT headers with no cats and a 93 race tune?

Help with Frankenstein swap

Umm 500 hp with a blower maybe, i would contact mhs and ask them what cams do they recommend because its not good to overcam your motor they have articles thats good and explains things, i will say ull put alot more down per mod then using a 2v headed motor but i dunno about 500 without some sort of fi ( someone thats using a 4v motor should chime in because im still on a 2v motor and dont know as much on the 4v as i do on the 2v)

It will indeed have one hell of a cam, but the RPM range on it is 2200 to 6500 so I won't have to spin the engine extremely far to get some power. I really don't have too much basis on the power numbers. I just knew a guy who stroked and bored a 4.6 2V into a 5.1 and with high compression, heads, cams and a race tune was pushing just over 400hp to the wheels. Hoping the same treatment sans stroking and boring might net me 500hp. Although I too am waiting for some 4v guy to show up and tell me it's crazy and can't be done.
